2010 EL PASO ULTRA MODEL COMPETITION (EPUM)
Please note: the following eligibility requirements and terms must be met in order to proceed with the application process for EL PASO ULTRA MODEL COMPETITION (EPUM).
- If you are chosen to be a contestant, it is your responsibility to make any necessary arrangements with your employer and family in anticipation of your participation in the competition.
- Several components of the competition will be recorded by video and segments will be broadcasted and exhibited online so that the general public may view it and cast votes for their favorite contestant.
- The winner of the competition will be eligible to receive the grand-prizes that will include a fashion modeling consulting contract.
- You must be female ages 18 to 24 years of age at the time of the application.
- You must be a United States citizen and live in the United States.
- You may not have previous experience as a model in a national campaign within the last five (5) years (including, but not limited to, appearances on television and print advertisements). Additionally, if you are currently represented by an agent or manager and are selected to participate as a contestant, you must provide sufficient evidence to the EPUM Coordinator that you will be able to effectively terminate each representation prior to your participation in the contest, if selected. If selected to participate in the contest, you must terminate, prior to your participation, any representation which conflicts with the terms of your participation.
- During the entire tenure of the competition, you may not seek representation and/or sign to an agency, production company or business with the intent to perform modeling services with or without compensation.
- You must be in excellent physical and mental health.
- You understand and agree that you may be required to pose and be photographed or videotaped throughout the competition.
- If you are selected to be interviewed, you may be given, and must complete and return (prior to the date of your personal interview in El Paso) a Medical History Form.
- If selected as a finalist you must complete a contestant package, which will be furnished to you by the EPUM Coordinator and will be among other things, release forms and waivers for you and your immediate family.
- Employees, officers, directors and agents of Fashion Model Consultant, and/or any of their respective licensees, assigns, partners, parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies and the immediate family (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son, regardless of where they live) or member of their same households (whether related or not) of such employees, officers, directors and agents are not eligible to be contestants in the EPUM competition or participate in the application process.
- Applicants will be chosen from across El Paso for an approximately total of 5 to 7 finalists and possible two alternatives. The EPUM Coordinator reserve the right to change any of the eligibility requirements and terms, including the terms of any prizes to be awarded at any time without notice.
- The EPUM Coordinators are looking for a dynamic group of individuals who are articulate, interesting and exhibit enthusiasm for the competition as well as willingness to share their most private thoughts in an open forum of strangers. This group of individuals, while meeting the technical requirements of the competition, must also have sufficient physical, psychological, and mental capacity to endure approximately 4 months in a monitored environment under extraordinary conditions.
- Applications MUST be written clearly or typed and MUST be accompanied with a photograph and application processing fee. The photograph can be a snap shot or professional portrait. The fee can be paid by check, money order or cashier’s check. No cash please!
- The application will also require that you submit a paragraph telling us “who you are and why you would make the ultra model for El Paso”. Be creative!
- All materials you send us including photographs will be retained by the EPUM Coordinator and become the property of the EPUM Coordinator and will not be returned to you whether or not you are selected as a contestant. Any expenses you incur during the application process including postage, shipping and material preparation (photos etc.) are your sole responsibility. The EPUM Coordinator will not reimburse you for these expenses. Only one application per person is allowed. All decisions of the EPUM Coordinator are final and absolute and not subject to inquiry or appeal.
- Applications will only be considered if they are complete. You have the option of applying in any of the following:
- Complete the short application information online, provide photos and payment as directed below; or
- Complete the application package as described here and in the application and send the entire completed application package to the EPUM Coordinator at the address below; or
- If applicable, complete the written portion of the application package as described below and bring it to any of the open calls that will be listed on www.epultramodel.com when locations are made available. Check back on www.epultramodel.com for the list of open call locations, dates and times.
NOTE: If you choose not to send in a completed application package, you MUST bring the completed and signed written portion of the application package to an open call, if applicable. Regardless of whether or not you send a completed application package to the EPUM Coordinator, if you choose to attend an open call, you must bring to the open call the written portion of the application package completed and signed. Otherwise, you will not be permitted to audition at the open call.
Completed applications that are sent to the EPUM Coordinator shall consist of the following:
- STEP 1 - Completed Contestant Application
- STEP 2 - Three photographs of you, each clearly labeled on the back with your name and phone number. One must be a close-up of your face, the second must be a full-length photograph of your entire (clothed) body, and the third must be three quarter photograph (clothed). One of these photographs may be in black and white. Please note that the EPUM Coordinator is looking for a variety of contestants including plus size models. Polaroid photos are acceptable as long as you are clearly visible.
- Legible copies of your pictured identification card should include either a driver’s license, social security card or birth certificate. Or, if submitting online, a valid drivers license number.
- STEP 3 - A $35.00 application registration fee. Covers application processing. This is paid using our EPUM Registration PayPal button below. Or, you may send your payment via check, money order or cashier’s check. No cash please! A receipt of your payment can be provided upon request.
Your completed application, photographs and payment will be accepted from now through and including midnight mountain standard time on Sunday, March 14, 2010, it being understood that such dates may be changed at any time without notice in the EPUM Coordinator’s sole discretion:

Unfortunately, we will not be able to verify that we have received your application. If you like, you may wish to send your application package via an expedited courier (such as Fedex or UPS). They will be so advised a tracking number that you can use to verify the receipt of your package. The EPUM Coordinators are not responsible for lost applications.
If you are selected for the Semi-Finals, you will be so advised by the EPUM Coordinator shortly before the Semi-Finals (if any) are scheduled. If you are selected to participate in the final selection process, you will be so advised by the EPUM Coordinator shortly before the final selection process is scheduled.
We reserve the right to make changes to the application and production schedule. If you are selected to be a contestant, we will endeavor to give at least one week’s notice prior to your competition date.
The EPUM Coordinator reserves the right to not hold any contestant application interviews, or to modify the manner in which it conducts such interviews, or to not produce the stage competition at all.

DEADLINE: ALL COMPLETED SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MIDNIGHT MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME, SUNDAY, MARCH 14, 2010.
In addition, the contestants will be evaluated on a regular basis by an elite panel of judges led by the EPUM Coordinator. These judges, which will include high profile fashion industry gurus, will narrow the field each week by providing 50% of the total judging points of the competition until one lucky winner is chosen to be El Paso’s Ultra Model. The other 50% of the total judging points will come from votes generated by the general public.
